Sarah is a recent college graduate with a degree in human factors psychology and a minor in business administration. She was born in Missouri and raised in Indiana until moving to Port Orange in 2016 to attend Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
A second generation American, Sarah is the grandchild of a Scottish immigrant and a small business owner in central Florida. As such, she spent many childhood summers in Orlando and on Florida's eastern beaches.
Sarah has been an activist for many years and is particularly concerned with environmental integrity and social justice. She began her political career in 2006 by founding an environmental awareness club for her fellow third graders.
More recently, she's worked for the Clinton campaign, interned for Senator Nelson, organized the 2019 Daytona Beach Women's March, and served as president of her university's Florida College Democrats chapter.
Sarah enjoys reading, weightlifting, and hiking, She was a cheerleader from elementary school through college. She has a three year old shelter dog named Benson, a native Floridian and lifelong Democrat.
